Terms of Richmond

Welcome to Richmond Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website carhirerichmond.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services

1. Richmond Rental Agreement

All Richmond vehicle rentals are governed by a detailed Rental Agreement provided at booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. The agreement sets out specific terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your responsibilities for that rental. If any conflict arises between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

2. Richmond Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from Richmond, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old for Richmond rentals (age restrictions may vary by vehicle type, with additional charges possible for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate to the vehicle class, held for the minimum period set out in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid government-issued identification and proof of payment at vehicle collection.

3. Richmond Booking and Payment

  • Bookings can be made through our website, by phone, or in person at our Richmond location. A booking deposit may be required to secure your reservation. Full payment and a security deposit are typically due when the vehicle is collected. All prices are shown in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable.

4. Richmond Vehicle Collection and Return

  • You must inspect the Richmond vehicle at collection and report any existing damage immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed. Return the vehicle in the same condition as when collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be assessed and charged accordingly.

5. Insurance and Liability (Richmond)

  • Richmond includes basic third-party insurance with every rental. Full coverage terms and applicable excess amounts are set out in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to reduce your financial liability. Please review these options before finalising your rental. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amount specified in the Rental Agreement.

6. Cancellation and Changes — Richmond

Richmond's cancellation and amendment policies vary by booking type and required notice period. Please refer to your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for the exact terms. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.

7. Richmond Restrictions

You must not use the Richmond vehicle for:

  • Use of Richmond vehicles for any illegal purpose or activity. Participation in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other hazardous activities. Transporting hazardous or dangerous materials. Sub-letting the vehicle to third parties or allowing unauthorized drivers. Driving a Richmond vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Purposes for which the vehicle is not designed...

Violating Richmond's policies may result in immediate rental termination and additional charges.

8. Richmond Liability Limits

To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Richmond will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or business, arising from your use of Richmond's services. Richmond's total liability for any claim will not exceed the total fees paid by you for the specific service to which the claim relates.

9. Richmond Law

Richmond Terms are governed by English and Welsh law. Disputes involving Richmond are subject to the sole jurisdiction of English and Welsh courts.

10. Changes to Richmond's Terms

Richmond may amend these Terms at any time. Amendments take effect immediately upon posting to Richmond's website. Continued use of Richmond's services after posting constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
